“Professional football player Victor James Osimhen has been transferred following an agreement reached with his former club, SSCN Napoli S.p.A,” Galatasaray stated.
Thunderous Arrival in Istanbul
Osimhen, 26, landed in Istanbul on Wednesday night, July 30, to a hero’s welcome. Thousands of Galatasaray supporters gathered at the airport to greet their new star, chanting and waving flags in celebration of what is one of the most significant signings in Turkish football history.
From Napoli Legend to Istanbul Star
Osimhen’s move brings an emotional end to his stay at Napoli, where he became a cult figure after leading the club to its first Serie A title in over three decades during the 2022–2023 season.
After a loan spell with Galatasaray last season — during which he helped them win both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup — the striker has now made his move permanent.
What’s Next for Osimhen?
Osimhen is expected to lead the line for Galatasaray in both domestic competitions and the UEFA Champions League, as the Turkish giants aim to build a squad capable of competing on all fronts.
The transfer marks a massive statement of intent by Galatasaray and represents one of the biggest deals in Turkish football history.
