Prior to embarking on a rap career, Nwosu initially expressed his creativity through poetry and served as a motivational speaker.

While studying at Newman University, he also worked as a janitor, appreciating the opportunity to dedicate his spare time to developing his rap career alongside his job responsibilities.

In 2016, Dax made the decision to compose a poem while traveling on a bus with his basketball team.

Upon receiving encouraging feedback from a teammate regarding his poem, he discovered his passion for writing.

Subsequently, he commenced sharing and promoting music through his SoundCloud account, releasing the mixtape 2pac Reincarnation Vol 2: As Told By Dax in 2017.

He gained recognition for the official music video of his track “Cash Me Outside” featuring Danielle Bregoli.

In August 2018, he unveiled his debut extended play, titled It’s Different Now, which included collaborations with other rappers such as OT Genasis and Futuristic.

The subsequent year, he was featured on Hopsin’s song “You Should’ve Known”. In June 2019, he embarked on the “It goes up” tour alongside Tech N9ne, and later announced his inaugural solo headlining tour, the “It’s Different Now Tour”, through Instagram, with scheduled performances across America and Canada in October.

In 2020, he released another EP, I’ll Say It for You, which garnered generally positive reviews. The 7-track EP was introduced by the controversial single “Dear God”.

Later in the year, he dropped two additional singles, “Faster” featuring Tech N9ne and “I don’t want another sorry” featuring Trippie Redd, respectively.

In April 2020, he released the single “Coronavirus (State Of Emergency)”, inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2021, Dax unveiled a follow-up to “Dear God” titled “Child of God”.

The subsequent month, he made an announcement about his first-ever studio album and dropped the lead single “Propaganda” featuring Tom Macdonald.

This track reached number 15 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart and number 9 on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart.

It debuted at number 9 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 and at 28 on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart.

Eventually, it achieved Platinum certification from both the RIAA and Music Canada.

On June 10, 2022, he released a country music crossover remix of the song featuring vocals from country singer Elle King.[citation needed] He received a nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2023 Canadian Country Music Awards.

In October 2023, Dax released a country music crossover remix of his track “To Be a Man” featuring Darius Rucker, which reached the top position on the Billboard Country Digital Song Sales chart in the United States.

On February 9th, 2024, Dax released the single “Narsiccist” featuring Phix.

At first, Dax did not view rap with much seriousness due to his passion for basketball.

However, there came a period when he began to appreciate Tupac’s music. While he was not particularly fond of rap initially, his interest in hip-hop grew when Drake became prominent in the industry.

Dax has mentioned being influenced by artists like 50 Cent and Lil Wayne.

He has drawn comparisons between his style and that of artists such as Tech N9ne, Eminem, and Hopsin.

On November 18, 2018, KSI made an appearance on the What’s Good? Podcast, during which he called out several internet rappers.

In the interview, KSI claimed that both Quadeca and Dax were inferior to him in terms of rapping skills.

Following this, Quadeca released a diss track titled “Insecure” on November 23, 2018, targeting KSI.

Dax also responded with his own diss track, a remix of Eminem’s “Killshot” aimed at Machine Gun Kelly.

KSI reacted to both tracks with a response video and his own diss track called “Ares”.

He issued a challenge to Dax for a private boxing match, which Dax accepted but continuously postponed. Later, Dax appeared on Deji’s diss track “Unforgivable” against KSI.

Tory Lanez
