Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Raises Alarm Over Unfair Legal Treatment, Demands Equal Justice

The legal team representing Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has raised concerns over what it describes as unequal treatment in her ongoing legal battles, accusing authorities of disregarding her petitions while hastily pursuing charges against her.
According to her lead counsel, Uju Nwoduwu, twelve petitions were submitted between March and May 2025, raising serious allegations including cyberstalking, threats to life, defamation, and other security concerns. However, the Federal Government has reportedly not taken action on these cases.
“It is disappointing that while our petitions—some of which involve individuals currently holding public office and making violent threats—remain ignored, charges are being brought against Senator Natasha on unrelated matters,” Nwoduwu stated.
The legal team expressed concern over what appears to be a selective application of justice, with Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s complaints still “under review” or receiving no response. At the same time, she now faces new legal charges.
Although the Senator is currently abroad on personal business, she has confirmed receipt of the court documents and has expressed her readiness to appear once an arraignment date is announced.
Her lawyers emphasized her commitment to due process, thanking the Nigerian public for their continued support and reiterating their trust in the judicial system.
The statement concluded with a firm demand for all pending petitions to be investigated without bias, urging law enforcement agencies to uphold fairness, impartiality, and the rule of law in the interest of true justice.
