Early Life and Education

Stefflon Don, a British-born artist with Jamaican heritage, hails from Birmingham, England.

She comes from a large family of seven siblings, including the well-known rapper Dutchavelli.

At the tender age of five, Stefflon Don’s family relocated to Rotterdam, Netherlands, which allowed her to become fluent in Dutch.

Her passion for music began at a young age, and she started singing and writing songs during her primary school years.

Remarkably, at just nine years old, she lent her vocals to a “Hard Knock Life” hook for rapper U-Niq, although the track was never officially released.

Nevertheless, it came as a pleasant surprise for Stefflon Don to hear her voice during the playback.

When she turned 14, she returned to Britain and pursued her studies at a school in London.

Prior to her successful music career, she worked as a cake decorator and hairdresser.

Career

Don first emerged in 2015 when he unveiled a rendition of Wretch 32’s “6 Words” and proceeded to collaborate on various tracks, including Lethal Bizzle’s “Wobble,” Sneakbo’s remix of “Work,” Angel’s “Hop On,” and KSI’s “Touch Down” from the Baywatch soundtrack.

Stefflon Don co-wrote Mason’s “Fashion Killa (Papapapa),” which was released on 16 August 2016.

She made her debut on an American song with Jeremih’s “London” and later featured on Lil Yachty’s “Better” from the album Teenage Emotions. On 16 December 2016, Don released her inaugural mixtape, Real Ting.

In the spring of 2016, Don signed with 54 London, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group specifically created for her.

A few months later, she collaborated with Jax Jones and Demi Lovato on the dancehall track “Instruction.”

The trio performed the song live for the first time in June 2018 at the Summertime Ball.

On 15 August 2017, Don unveiled her lead single “Hurtin’ Me” featuring French Montana, which was part of her debut EP titled Hurtin’ Me – The EP.

The single reached number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The EP was subsequently released on 12 January 2018.

On 29 November, Don was honored with the Best Female award at the 2017 MOBO Awards.

In March 2018, Don graced the cover of the final print edition of NME, marking the end of its 66-year run.

In March 2018, Don joined forces with American singer Halsey and rapper Big Sean for a remix of Halsey’s “Alone.” The track reached number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Don’s first entry on the chart. Additionally, it secured her first number one on the Dance Club Songs chart. The music video for the remix was released on April 6, 2018.

In March 2019, Don collaborated with Mariah Carey on a remix of the song “A No No” from Carey’s 2018 album, Caution.

Don’s talent was recognized in June 2018 when she was included in the XXL Freshman Class. Later that year, on August 17, she released her second mixtape, Secure.

Continuing her streak of collaborations, Don teamed up with Wiley in March 2019 for the song “Boasty.”

In July 2019, Don’s vocals were featured on XXXTentacion’s posthumous track, “Royalty.”

On August 25, 2021, Don joined forces with Anne-Marie, Little Mix, Raye, and Becky Hill for the Kiss My (Uh Oh) Girl Power Remix.

In June 2023, Don made a visit to the village of Moosa in Punjab, India, to pay her respects to the late rapper Sidhu Moose Wala. This visit held significance as Don had previously collaborated with Sidhu on the song “47” in 2019, which reached No. 17 on the UK Singles Chart.

Personal Life

At the age of 17, she welcomed her first child, a son named Jaylen.

She is the sibling of rapper Dutchavelli.

From 2018 to 2022, Allen was in a relationship with Nigerian singer Burna Boy.

In September 2019, she organized a giveaway on Twitter to celebrate reaching a billion streams as an artist.

British artist Shocka contacted her, revealing that he was in Nigeria for his mother’s cancer treatment.
