HBO has officially announced the young actors who will portray the iconic trio in its forthcoming Harry Potter television series. After an extensive casting process that saw over 30,000 hopefuls audition, the roles have been awarded to Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

McLaughlin, a Scottish actor, has previously appeared in the Sky comedy Grow and is set to feature in the BBC action-adventure series Gifted. Stanton brings stage experience from her role as Matilda in the West End production of Matilda: The Musical. Stout, while less known, impressed casting directors with his audition, earning him the role of Ron.

Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer/director Mark Mylod expressed their enthusiasm for the new cast, stating, “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”
