Lionesses star, Ella Toone Gets Engaged After Euro 2025 win

 

Lionesses and Manchester United star Ella Toone has revealed her engagement to boyfriend Joe Bunney, sharing the joyful news with her over 800,000 Instagram followers.

Bunney proposed during a trip to Ibiza, creating a romantic setting with the help of his four-year-old son, Arlo. The proposal took place in front of a picturesque vista, complete with a heart-shaped arrangement of red roses and a sign reading “will you marry me?”

The couple, believed to have been together for three years, share both personal and professional ties. Bunney, a non-league footballer for Stalybridge Celtic in England’s eighth tier, also works as a coach at Ella Toone’s ET7 Academy, which supports young girls aspiring to a football career.

The engagement comes after an eventful period for Ella Toone. She played a key role in all six of the Lionesses’ matches at Euro 2025, scoring twice and helping the team retain their title. Just hours before the final, she also experienced the heartbreaking loss of her grandmother.

With the new Women’s Super League season starting in September, Toone and her Manchester United teammates will face Leicester City in their opening fixture. As the couple begins wedding planning, it remains to be seen whether the responsibilities will be shared equally amid her busy football schedule.
