Nafessa Williams, an American actress, has gained recognition for her various roles in film and television.
In 2011, she portrayed Nicole Gordon in the Meek Mill film Streets and Deanna Forbes on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live.
Her talent further shone through in 2016 when she played Dr. Charlotte Piel on the CBS drama Code Black.
From 2018 to 2021, Williams captivated audiences with her portrayal of Anissa Pierce in The CW’s Black Lightning.

Early life and education
Career
In 2010, Williams starred alongside Meek Mill in Streets. The movie was released in 2012.
In March 2011, it was revealed that Williams would be part of ABC’s One Life to Live as Deanna.
Initially set for three episodes, Williams signed a four-year contract before her debut.
However, after just a month, ABC decided to cancel the show. Williams left the series in July 2011.
In March 2012, Williams announced her appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful. She debuted on May 8, 2012, but only appeared in two episodes.
In 2015, Williams was in Brotherly Love, produced by Queen Latifah, alongside Keke Palmer. In April 2016, Williams joined the Showtime continuation of Twin Peaks.

She later landed a recurring role as Charlotte on the CBS drama Code Black in July 2016. In 2017, Williams was cast as Anissa Pierce in the 2018 series Black Lightning.
In May and June 2019, Williams, along with DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee, writer Tom King, and CW series actresses Candice Patton and Danielle Panabaker, visited five U.S. military bases in Kuwait with the USO.
They celebrated DC’s 80th anniversary of Batman with approximately 12,000 U.S. military personnel stationed in the country.
