Early life
Career
DJ Zinhle embarked on her career in approximately 2004. Initially, her aspirations were focused on becoming a TV presenter rather than a DJ.
However, her brother’s passion for mixing vinyls influenced her, and her love and enthusiasm for being a DJ began to grow.
She received her first opportunity as a resident DJ on a popular youth dance show called Jika Majika, which was broadcasted on SABC 1.
Throughout her career, DJ Zinhle collaborated with renowned South African music icon Boom Shaka on the album “I Put It In.”
This album also featured other notable artists such as Dr Malinga, Khanyi Mbau, Mphoza, and many more. Additionally, she headlined the Sisters with Soul concert alongside Amanda Black.
At the second Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards, she achieved great success by winning two awards, including Best House DJ and Best House Female Artist.
Furthermore, she was chosen as the headline act for the Zimfest 2019 live concert, a Zimbabwean festival held in England.
Her hit single “Umlilo” from 2019 garnered an impressive 5.1 million streams within just three months.
It was certified 3× platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RISA) and was also voted as the Song of the Year for 2019.
DJ Zinhle was selected as the headline act for the inaugural Red Bull Music Experience in Cape Town.
In 2021, she co-hosted the talent show competition “1’s and 2’s” on SABC 1 alongside DJ Tira and DJ Speedsta.
