Tolulope Adesua Etomi-Wellington, professionally known as Adesua Etomi, is a Nigerian actress and entrepreneur. She made her debut in the film industry in 2014 with the movie Knocking On Heaven’s Door.
Adesua Etomi received the Best Actress in a Drama award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her performance in the romantic drama film Falling.

Early Life and Education
Tolulope Adesua Etomi was born in Owerri, Imo State, according to multiple reliable sources.
These sources also state that her birthdate is 22 February 1988. However, in a January 2016 interview with Pulse Nigeria, Etomi mentioned that she was 29 years old at the time.
Interestingly, Answers Africa published an article in March 2016 claiming that she was 30 years old. Etomi’s father is of Esan descent and her mother is of Yoruba descent.
She is the youngest among her three siblings. Etomi began her journey in the performing arts at a young age, joining the drama club at Corona School in Victoria Island, Lagos when she was just seven years old.
She later attended Queen’s College, Lagos before relocating to the United Kingdom at the age of 13.
In 2004, Etomi obtained a diploma in physical theatre, musical theatre, and performing arts from City College Coventry, achieving triple distinctions.
She then pursued her passion for drama and performance at the University of Wolverhampton, where she graduated with first-class honours.
Career
Etomi has an impressive list of film credits, including The Arbitration, The Wedding Party, and Falling.
Her outstanding performance in Falling earned her the prestigious 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama.
She has also appeared in other notable films such as A Soldier’s Story, Out of Luck, and Couple of Days.
In addition to her film work, Etomi showcased her talent on the television soap opera Shuga, portraying the character Shiela in the fourth and fifth seasons.
She further expanded her acting repertoire by starring as Amaka Obiora, an undercover police officer, in the crime series LasGidi Cops. Etomi’s accomplishments have not gone unnoticed, as she was featured on Vogue’s list of 14 global superstars.
In February 2022, she ventured into the music industry with the release of her first single titled ‘So Natural’.
Furthermore, in October 2023, she successfully launched her own beauty brand, Sanaa Beauty, in collaboration with Jemima Osunde.
Personal Life
Etomi and Banky W announced their engagement in February 2017.
They celebrated their traditional marriage on 19 November, followed by a court wedding on 20 November, and a white wedding on 25 November 2017, which took place in Cape Town, South Africa.
In January 2021, Adesua and Banky W welcomed their son, Hazaiah Wellington.
On 5 April 2021, Adesua and Banky W revealed the challenges they faced with conception and childbearing in a story titled ‘Final Say Faith’, shared at the Waterbrook church.
Adesua received recognition for intervening and protecting the daughter of Nollywood actress Iretiola Doyle from bullies.
