In 2021, Rae signed a publishing deal with Sandlot Records and subsequently released her first single, “Obsessed”.
This track reached the tenth position on the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
Later on, the song was featured on Rae’s debut self-titled EP, AR, which entered the US Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart at number 19.
Rae ventured into acting with her debut appearance in the Netflix original film, He’s All That (2021), a modernized version of the 1999 movie She’s All That with a gender-swapped storyline.
Additionally, she took on a role in the holiday-themed slasher film Thanksgiving (2023). Furthermore, Rae has been cast as the lead in Legendary’s upcoming movie Animal Friends (2024).
Early Life
Addison Rae Easterling, born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, is the daughter of Monty Lopez and Sheri Easterling.
She has two younger brothers, Enzo Lopez and Lucas Lopez, as well as an older half-sister named Macye Neumeyer, who has two daughters of her own.
During her childhood, Addison’s parents went through a divorce but later remarried in 2017 after being on and off. Both Monty and Sheri have a significant presence on TikTok, with Monty having 5 million followers and Sheri having 14 million followers.
At the age of six, Rae began her journey in competitive dancing, participating in various competitions across the country.
Although she briefly attended Louisiana State University (LSU) to study sports broadcasting, she decided to drop out when her popularity on TikTok started to soar.
In an interview with Elle magazine, Addison Rae explained that she made the choice to move to Los Angeles after receiving interest from people in the city. Her parents fully supported her decision to pursue her TikTok career in LA.
Career
Addison Rae has gained a massive following on TikTok, accumulating 88.7 million followers.
She initially joined the platform in July 2019 and quickly gained popularity by sharing dance videos to trending songs.
Within a few months, Rae had already surpassed one million followers and made the decision to leave LSU in November.
This pivotal moment marked a turning point for her, as she realized her passion for social media and her desire to expand her presence on other platforms.
Rae began actively engaging with her audience on YouTube and Instagram, solidifying her commitment to her online career.
In January 2020, she signed with talent agency WME, along with her parents, further establishing her professional trajectory.
Additionally, Rae ventured into the world of podcasting, launching a weekly podcast exclusively on Spotify called “Mama Knows Best” in July 2020.
This podcast delved into various topics, offering insights into both her personal and professional life. In 2021, she rebranded the podcast as “That was Fun? With Addison and Sheri.”
Furthermore, Rae has expanded her entrepreneurial endeavors by creating her own cosmetics line, Item Beauty, where she holds the role of Chief Innovation Officer.
She co-founded Item Beauty with Madeby Collective and takes charge of overseeing most of the brand’s products.
Not stopping there, Rae also ventured into the fragrance industry, establishing her own fragrance line called “Addison Rae Fragrance.”
Rae appeared in He’s All That, a film that is a remake of the 1999 teen comedy She’s All That.
Her character in the movie was inspired by Zachary Siler, played by Freddie Prinze Jr., in the original version.
The film was released on Netflix in August 2021 and despite being the most streamed film of the week, it received negative reviews from critics.
According to Courtney Howard of Variety magazine, Rae displays a natural ease and charm, particularly when embracing the comedic and satirical aspects of the film or participating in a choreographed dance-off.
However, she still has room for improvement when it comes to conveying emotional depth, especially in the third act.
On February 2, 2022, Rae took to Instagram to announce her involvement in a new movie called Fashionista, produced by Paramount. Unfortunately, no further details about the project have been disclosed.
In February 2023, it was revealed that Rae would be joining the cast of Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving.
The movie received positive reviews, with critics praising Rae’s growth as an actress since her debut film.
Additionally, on May 12, 2023, Rae was announced to star alongside Ryan Reynolds in a live-action hybrid movie titled Animal Friends.
The movie is set to be released in 2024, but further information has yet to be unveiled.

In January 2021, Rae generously donated her $1 million prize money from winning an all-star Mario Tennis Aces tournament, the Stay At Home Slam, to the charity No Kid Hungry.
By June 2021, reports surfaced that Rae was romantically involved with Omer Fedi, a producer and musician from Los Angeles. As of the end of 2023, they were still together.
Public Image
Forbes released a report in August 2020 that disclosed Rae’s earnings of $5 million in the previous year until June.
These earnings were a result of her endorsement deals and merchandise, establishing her as the highest-earning TikTok star at that time.
Rae’s success on TikTok opened doors for collaborations with renowned companies like Reebok, L’Oréal, Hollister, and American Eagle.
In July 2020, she joined forces with American Eagle for their #AExME Back to School ’20 campaign, which featured a virtual photoshoot conducted in Addison’s bedroom due to the pandemic.
Later in 2020, Lil Yachty mentioned Rae in the song “E-ER” by DJ Scheme, expressing his desire for her to become his doctor and examine his private parts.
Bryce Hall attempted to have this lyric removed from the song, but it remained in the official release.
In August 2022, Rae faced criticism for a controversial post featuring a bra and a bikini with the words “Father,” “Son,” and “Holy Spirit.” Some Christians found this post offensive, and Rae subsequently deleted it.
