Early Life

Toyin Lawani was (born on March 1, 1982) into the Lawani family of Ekiti State in the South West of Nigeria to her father, Yisah Lawani, a former commissioner of Police, and her mother, Princess Atinuke Babalola, a serial entrepreneur (also royalty).

She attended Ebire Nursery and Primary School in Ibadan, Oyo State, and was admitted into the prestigious St John’s College in Lagos in 1992. In her final year, she passed the West African Examination Council and was named the overall best student in food and nutrition.

She was admitted to study English at the University of Lagos in 1998. While a student there, she also enrolled at the Opral Benson Training Institute, a decision that helped pinpoint her lifelong career path.
