Nobody believed in us – Galatasaray’s vice-president speaks on Osimhen’s transfer

 

Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has made a bold statement regarding Victor Osimhen’s potential move to the club, claiming that the Nigerian striker is eager to wear the Galatasaray jersey, even after turning down lucrative offers from other top clubs.

Kavukcu’s remarks came shortly after reports emerged that Galatasaray and Napoli had reached an agreement on bank guarantees and payment plans for Osimhen’s permanent transfer.

“Nobody believed in us. We showed the world that Galatasaray has such a capability. No one can mock Galatasaray,” Kavukcu declared, according to Turkish football journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.

He further emphasized Galatasaray’s global presence and ambition:

“We are present at every table. Relax. If there are five clubs in the world today, Galatasaray will definitely be one of them.”

According to Kavukcu, Osimhen is standing firm on his desire to join the Istanbul-based club, despite being courted with incredible offers from elsewhere.

“Osimhen wants us badly. Despite receiving incredible offers, he wants us. He stands firm.”

Kavukcu also addressed the noise and skepticism from fans and critics on social media, urging unity and belief:

“Don’t pay too much attention to social media. If we stay united, we can achieve anything.”

The development marks a significant moment for Galatasaray as they push to bring one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers to the Turkish Super Lig, in what could be one of the biggest transfers in the club’s history.
