Career
Bailey initially aspired to become a singer, but shifted her focus to acting and modeling at the age of 15 due to stage fright while performing in front of audiences.

Her professional acting career commenced in 2015 with appearances in TV shows such as Mr. Mercedes and Constantine. In 2018, she landed the role of Wendy Hernandez in the CW science fiction series Black Lightning, portraying a teenage metahuman with the power to control and manipulate air for two seasons.
From 2020 onwards, she has been portraying Kiara “Kie” Carrera in the Netflix mystery drama Outer Banks.
Personal Life
Bailey, a resident of Kernersville, North Carolina, was raised by adoptive parents in the same town. Growing up, she had six older siblings, five of whom were also adopted through foster care.
Being of mixed-race and black heritage, Bailey has openly shared her experiences of growing up in a predominantly white household and community.
In 2018, she tragically lost her mother, and as a tribute, Bailey and two of her sisters got matching tattoos in her memory. Bailey completed her education at East Forsyth High School in Kernersville.
At the age of 18, she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. In 2017, Bailey publicly came out as pansexual, but it wasn’t until 2020 that her relationship with Mariah Linney, a basketball player from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, gained more attention.
Bailey has a passion for doing her own makeup and has even been featured in advertising campaigns for Fenty Beauty.
