“I am really sorry for getting on your nerves” – Sarah Martins Apologizes to Davido Over Mistaken Restaurant Claim
Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has publicly apologized to Afrobeats superstar Davido after he sternly corrected her for falsely claiming he had opened a restaurant not registered in his wife, Chioma’s, name.
Sarah had earlier taken to social media to suggest that Davido’s supposed new restaurant should have been dedicated to or opened for Chioma.
However, Davido quickly set the record straight, revealing there was no restaurant and that the event she referred to was merely a promotional campaign for his album “5ive” in collaboration with a food delivery brand.
In a blunt, direct message to Sarah, Davido wrote:
“Wtf is wrong with u? Delete that dumb ass shit. Which fucking restaurant did Topen? Pis. I didt open any restaurant. Pis delete it now.”
Following the backlash, Sarah shared an emotional apology video, referring to Davido as “my King, one and only 001.”
She explained that her comments were based on a misleading post by popular food critic Opeyemi, and emphasized that her intentions were rooted in admiration, not disrespect.
“If you know me well, you’d know I’m a die-hard fan of Davido and Chioma, and I would never intentionally disrespect either of them,” she said. “I jumped to conclusions based on misinformation.
I am really, really sorry for getting on your nerves, especially to the point that you had to message me directly.
OBO, I am your number one fan. Please forgive me. This is coming from a place of love.”
Sarah also promised to issue a formal apology to clear the air further.
The incident has sparked conversations online about the importance of verifying facts before making public statements, especially about high-profile figures like Davido and Chioma.
