Diddy Acquitted of Sex Trafficking – Celebrities React to Mixed Verdict

‎ ‎

Main Verdict: Acquittals and Conviction Explained

Federal prosecutors suffered a setback on June 2, when music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy — the most serious charges in a highly publicized federal trial. Still, Combs was convicted of violating the federal Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for sex, and this could carry a sentence of up to 10 years.

Diddy, who allegedly flew his girlfriends and male sex workers across the U.S. for drug-fueled sex parties, was spared on charges related to manipulation, coercion, and violence. His defense argued that all acts were consensual, and while the jury found grounds for conviction under the Mann Act, it wasn’t persuaded on broader conspiracy and trafficking charges.

Following the verdict, Diddy held his hands in a prayer motion, hugged his lawyer Teny Geragos, and mouthed gratitude to supporters. The courtroom broke its silence with subtle gasps and a lone shout of “Yeah!” as the first “not guilty” was read. The judge, Arun Subramanian, adjourned to decide whether Diddy would be granted bail.

As he left the courtroom, Diddy was emotional:

“I’ll be home soon,” he said. “I love you, baby. I love you, Mom.”

Support and Celebration: Diddy’s Family and Fans React

Outside the courthouse, Diddy’s mother Janice Combs was seen smiling, blowing kisses, and giving thumbs up to fans chanting “Free Puff.” Some supporters went as far as dousing themselves in baby oil and even baring their breasts, as captured and censored by The Shade Room.

His son, Christian Combs, celebrated outside with his girlfriend Raven Tracy, dancing and doing shirtless push-ups, visibly relieved after three days of jury deliberation. Earlier this week, he also surprised Tracy at her birthday beach party.

Cryptic Messages and Silence: Yung Miami and Misa Hylton Speak (or Don’t)

Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Yung Miami, didn’t issue a statement but reposted a Justin Bieber clip of a two-finger clap and smile on Instagram Stories. Later, she posted what appeared to be Harvard coursework, remaining silent on X.

In a past podcast episode of Caresha Please (August 2024), she said:

“I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience… Puff was a really good person… he brought out my gentle side.”

Since Diddy’s arrest and trial, she’s been quiet — with one exception: clapping back at someone in June who claimed she missed “that Diddy money.”

Misa Hylton, mother of Justin Combs, posted a quote on her Instagram Story:

“Underrated life skill: Knowing when to let your silence say everything.”

She hasn’t commented directly on the verdict but previously praised Cassie for reliving her abuse and called for Diddy to seek personal healing.

Outrage and Warning: Aubrey O’Day and Cassie’s Legal Team Speak Up

Former Danity Kane singer and long-time Diddy critic, Aubrey O’Day, shared her visceral reaction via Instagram:
“Oh my God,” she gasped while watching CNN, later saying she felt “physically ill.” She believed the verdict would devastate Cassie Ventura, who previously sued Diddy for abuse. Days before the verdict, O’Day warned:

“If he walks free, he’s coming after everybody.”

That sentiment was echoed in a statement from Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, who warned the judge that Combs “is likely to pose a danger to the victims… as well as to the community.”

A Racial Perspective: Boosie Weighs In

Boosie, the outspoken rapper, reacted prematurely, assuming Diddy had been released. He expressed frustration over how Black moguls are treated in the U.S.:

“I’m tired of seeing us Black mogul get took down like that… If he was white… they would’ve had so many white people protesting.”

Though Diddy was not released at the time, Boosie’s comments fueled a larger conversation about race, justice, and public perception.

Feminist Frustration: Luenell Calls Out the Cheers

Comedian Luenell didn’t mince words in her Instagram post:

“SO… LADIES, we’re dead in the water… Nobody cares about what men do to women.”

She slammed those cheering the verdict and pointed out the lack of accountability for Diddy’s enablers.
On her Instagram Stories, she followed up with:

“Excuse me, but what is everybody CHEERING THA FUK ABOUT??? Like seriously??? #DiddysAss”

Final Thoughts

The verdict may have acquitted Diddy of the most damaging allegations, but the court of public opinion remains deeply divided. With celebrity reactions ranging from support and silence to disgust and fear, it’s clear that the conversation around power, abuse, and justice in entertainment is far from over.
