In 2019, Busola made accusations against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) for allegedly raping her when she was 17, as revealed during an interview with Ynaija.
The lawsuit was filed against the Pastor in 2019, 18 years after the incident in 2002. She claimed that the Pastor assaulted her twice, once in her family home and another time on a secluded street.
The public opinion in Nigeria was divided on Busola Dakolo’s rape case, with some condemning the Pastor for exploiting a young girl, while others dismissed the allegations as false, suggesting that Busola Dakolo fabricated the story to tarnish the reputation of the respected religious figure.
Some viewed the incident as a publicity stunt, while others believed it was an attempt to extort money from the Pastor.
At the time of the alleged incident, Pastor Biodun was an evangelist and had not yet established COZA.
However, recent reports on the case revealed that the court dismissed the allegations during a hearing at Court 12 in Bwari, citing lack of substantial evidence.
Biodun Fatoyinbo emerged victorious in the legal battle after submitting an objection and an affidavit to the court, refuting the claims made by Busola Dakolo.
