In the wake of Billy Joel’s recent tour postponement due to health concerns, his wife, Alexis Roderick, has provided a candid update on her own health journey, shedding light on the challenges the couple has faced together.
Alexis Roderick revealed that she has been battling endometriosis, a chronic and often misdiagnosed condition, for several years. The pain and complications associated with the disease were compounded by the demands of raising their two children and supporting Joel’s rigorous touring schedule. It wasn’t until she received proper diagnosis and treatment from Dr. Tamer Seckin that she found relief. Now, Roderick is an advocate for endometriosis awareness and has been instrumental in launching the Seckin Endometriosis Center for Women’s Health at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.

Meanwhile, Billy Joel, 75, is recovering from a recent surgery that led to the postponement of eight tour dates. The decision to delay the tour was made to prioritize his health, allowing time for recovery and physical therapy. The tour is expected to resume on July 5, 2025, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
Roderick emphasized the importance of prioritizing well-being, noting Joel’s intense performance schedule over the past 15 years. She expressed gratitude for the support they have received and reiterated the need for both of them to address their health to maintain their family and careers.
The couple’s foundation continues to support endometriosis awareness and research through the Endometriosis Foundation of America, reflecting their commitment to health advocacy and community support.
