‎ ‎

AC Milan have confirmed the blockbuster signing of Luka Modrić, with the Croatian midfield maestro joining the club on a one-year contract, including an option to extend the deal through June 2027.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner joins the Rossoneri as a free agent, bringing an end to a glittering 13-year career at Real Madrid that saw him etch his name into footballing history.

Modrić, who will turn 40 in September, successfully completed his medical on Monday morning before finalizing his move at Milan’s club headquarters. He will don the Number 14 jersey at San Siro.

The veteran playmaker arrives with a trophy haul unmatched by most, including:

  • 🏆 6 Champions League titles
  • 🏆 4 La Liga championships
  • 🏆 5 Club World Cups
  • 🏆 5 UEFA Super Cups
  • 🏆 2 Copa del Rey trophies
  • 🏆 5 Spanish Super Cups

Internationally, Modrić is Croatia’s most-capped player with 188 appearances, having played a pivotal role in leading his nation to the 2018 World Cup final and 2022 semi-finals.

This move marks the fourth club of Modrić’s storied professional career, following stints at GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Tottenham Hotspur, and Real Madrid.

Sources close to the deal suggest that Modrić was lured by his admiration for AC Milan — a passion he has long shared with fellow Croatian legend Zvonimir Boban, who is himself a Rossoneri icon.

Fans of the Serie A giants are already buzzing, as the signing signals Milan’s ambition to add elite experience and leadership to their youthful squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
