Miss World South Africa Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg Reacts After Shock Top 40 Omission

South Africa’s Miss World 2024 representative, Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg, has broken her silence following her surprising omission from the Top 40 finalists at the recently concluded 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India.

The 18-year-old law student from Johannesburg was widely seen as a top contender heading into the competition on May 31, with many pageant enthusiasts expressing shock when her name was not called during the crucial selection stage.

Ultimately, the coveted crown went to Thailand’s Opal Suchata, leaving fans and supporters of Zoalize disappointed but proud.

Despite the unexpected outcome, Zoalize responded with grace and positivity. Taking to Instagram, she shared an emotional message reflecting on her Miss World journey:

“Today, my heart is filled with the colours of the rainbow. I am a proud daughter of the rainbow nation and a proud daughter of the world. This journey has taught me the importance of patience, tolerance, and, most importantly, drawing strength from my purpose.”

Zoalize also extended heartfelt gratitude to her mentors, supporters, and fellow South Africans:

“I owe my eternal gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey… Thank you for enabling me to do my best.”

Her post drew praise from Miss World South Africa franchise owner Carol Bouwer, who lauded Zoalize’s poise, wisdom, and resilience. Bouwer wrote on her own Instagram page:

“Zoalize, you have taught me that the number of years lived are not the real measure of wisdom. In our eyes, you are the world! You were outstanding from the very beginning, and we love and cherish you.”

Bouwer also thanked the Miss World South Africa team and the many supporters who rallied behind Zoalize, stating:

“South Africa is a nation born of great resolve. As we return home, we do so with pride.”

Interestingly, Zoalize hinted that her pageant journey may not be over. When asked by fans about a potential future appearance at Miss South Africa or Miss Universe South Africa, she replied:

“We never know what the future holds.”

While her Miss World run may have ended sooner than expected, Zoalize’s grace, maturity, and determination have made a lasting impression on fans at home and around the globe.
