A Nigerian lady has gone viral after receiving a $2,000 cash gift from Tems manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, for making a “sensible” comment under one of the singer’s trending posts on X (formerly Twitter).

Tems Addresses Body Talk

The drama unfolded after Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems responded to increasing online chatter about her body, especially her backside.

In a bold and unfiltered post, Tems wrote:

“Okay, 7 years in. It’s time to pack it up. I never thought I’d need to say it but you are all weird. ‘It’s small, it’s flat, it’s fat.’ Dog, IT’S MINE… The more you don’t like my body the better for me actually. But it’s enough now. Move on from my bum.”

The tweet instantly sparked a wave of reactions, ranging from support to more commentary about her figure.

Manager Responds to Critics

Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi (X handle: @IAmDonawon), took to the platform to defend the singer:

“No single sense do they have on this app. Not even half a sense.”

This drew backlash, with a user clapping back:

“Na only one person tweet about her bum but na everybody on the app no get sense. Igbati kee you dia omo werey.”Screenshot 20250603 173129.jpg

In response, a user named @chidimmaibe jumped into the conversation, defending Awoniyi’s generalization:

“It’s not only 1 person. That’s just the person they used as example. There are many more ignorant foolish tweets about it.”

Awoniyi was so impressed by her intelligent response that he asked for her bank details and sent her $2,000, praising her for having “a lot of sense.”Screenshot 20250603 173310 scaled.jpg

Social Proof Pays Off

The unexpected reward not only shocked many on X but also sparked new conversations about respectful discourse online and how standing up for others—especially in the face of online trolling—can have surprising rewards.
