Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Mass Communication under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above listed universities include;
Any three (3) Arts and Social Science subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIJOS require Literature in English.
(ii) UNNÂ require Literature in English and any two (2) subjects out of which one must be in the Arts or Social Sciences.
O’Level Requirements
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Mass Communication;
You require;Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AJAYI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and three (3) other subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.
(ii) CU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Literature in English, one Science subject from Biology, Health/General Science, Agricultural Science, Physics and Chemistry, one from Social Sciences or Arts. Social Science subject such as Geography, Economics, Government, Commerce, Principle of Account, Book Keeping. Arts such as CRS, History. etc
(iv) UNIJOS and UNN require ‘O’ Level credit pass in Literature in English.
(v) UNN requires credit level passes in Literature in English and an approved science subject plus ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.
Direct Entry Requirements
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Mass Communication, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AJAYI requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes or their equivalent in Literature in English and one other Arts or Social Science subject, plus three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes.
(ii) For UNN, candidates must possess HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level with passes in two (2) Arts subjects plus the UTME requirements.
(iii) UNIJOS accepts same in Mass Communication plus ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.
