Have these 8 things ready, before registering for JAMB 2025, A must for every candidates

The 2025 JAMB Registration will begin in January. Now is the time to get ready! Early preparation is key to ensuring a smooth registration and increasing your chances of success in the exam.

1. Get Your National Identification Number (NIN)

The NIN is now a mandatory requirement for UTME/DE registration. If you don’t have yours yet, we strongly recommend you obtain it as soon as possible. We’ve previously shared a step-by-step guide on how to get your NIN. If you need it, visit this link: NIN Application Guidelines for detailed instructions.

2. Ensure You Have a Registered Phone Number for Profile Code Creation

Before registering, you will need to generate a profile code by sending your NIN via a registered phone number to a shortcode provided by JAMB. Make sure you have a valid, registered phone number (preferably an MTN line) for this process. All future SMS updates from JAMB will be sent to this number, so ensure it’s your personal number. You can now proceed to generate your 2025 JAMB registration profile code.

3. Set Up a Free Email Address

Your email address serves as a backup for your JAMB profile in case you lose access to your phone number. It is mandatory to provide an email address during registration. Setting up an email is quick and free. We recommend using Gmail, which can be easily accessed at gmail.com. Check to create email account.

4. Decide on the Course You Want to Study

Now is the best time to choose the course you want to pursue. This decision requires thoughtful consideration, so don’t wait until the last minute. Choose a course you are passionate about and have the academic aptitude for. Be sure to have a second-choice course in mind, as this can improve your chances of admission.

5. Choose the School You Want to Apply to

Similarly, decide which school you intend to apply to before registration begins. Consider factors such as whether the institution offers your desired course, the admission requirements, school fees, and location. For a higher chance of success, consider having a backup option such as a polytechnic or college of education because they will be required while filling your JAMB registration form.

6. Know Your Subject Combination

Each course has a specific set of subjects required for admission. It’s essential to select the correct subject combination for your chosen course and institution. Many students make the mistake of choosing the wrong subjects, which can jeopardize their chances of admission. Use the JAMB Brochure to verify the correct subject combination before registration begins.

7. Seek Guidance if Needed

If you are unsure about your choice of course, institution, or subject combination, don’t hesitate to ask for guidance. You can use the “Ask a Question” section on our website, where a community of experts will provide helpful answers. Alternatively, join our JAMB 2025 WhatsApp group to get instant advice and answers to your questions. Join here.

8. Start Preparing for the Exam

Start your study preparations now. Remember, it’s not just about studying hard; it’s about studying smart. Many questions in the UTME are repeated from past exams, so practicing past questions is crucial.

For Schools, Institutions, and Tutorial Centers

Now is the time for schools, institutions, and tutorial centers to set up their CBT facilities and become JAMB CBT Agents or Training Centers to help train students for the upcoming exams. For more information on how to get started, click here.

Once UTME registration begins, we will provide detailed, step-by-step instructions to ensure a smooth registration process. Stay tuned and continue your preparations!

Good Luck….
